We all have a bucket list of things we all want to do like a balloon flight, seeing the northern lights, and doing an epic fundraiser! As a charity, we are really interested in that last idea.
The staff considered many fundraising ideas pre-pandemic. Yes, ages ago, eons ago. OK so 3 years ago. So we are not doing a marathon too much work, with all that training. Cycling possibly but again lots of training is needed. Swimming was also considered but the cost of using a pool is prohibitive. Walking, possibly but that’s also time-consuming. Are you getting the picture? We wanted something quick, easy, and relatively painless. Then someone mentioned “Skydive”. Ah Hah. “My husband might do a skydive, parachute jump whatever”, said the member of staff. Well then, we can work with that.
Then the pandemic hits and the world stops. Yep, freeze frame, alternate universe now in play. No fundraising now unless you walk laps of the garden like Sir Tom. Finally, the world moved on…
