Getting Support

Home-Start North Wiltshire

At Home-Start North Wiltshire, we support families who are going through difficult times, helping to prevent family stress becoming family crisis.

Our compassionate, non-judgemental services are delivered through weekly volunteer home visiting, and parent and child groups. All of our support is free, confidential, and open to families with at least one child under five years old.

There is no typical Home-Start family. We are used to supporting families with a wide range of different make ups and needs, and can support parents, carers, or grandparents.

Support focuses on building each family’s strengths, confidence, and resilience.

We endeavour to access telephone interpretation support where necessary, for families who do not speak English.

Swindon

We are only able to offer support to families who live in Swindon on a case-by-case basis.

We are currently able to support a small number of families each quarter, through short-term volunteer home visiting.

Families may make a self-referral or be introduced to our service by another agency (via our Introduction Form)

Getting Support

Support from Home-Start North Wiltshire is always voluntary; families choose to access our service, and volunteers willingly give up their time to help others.

With a wide pool of volunteers, we can connect each family with a volunteer with the right skills and experience to meet their support needs, bringing members of the community together.

Families can contact us directly for help (self-refer), or be introduced to our team by a third party. We frequently receive Introduction Forms from Health Visitors, Family Hubs and other professionals in the early years, health and social care sectors.

We know it can be hard to ask for help; we don’t judge, just listen and support every step of the way!

If you, or someone you know, lives in our service area, has at least one child under five years old, and are going through a difficult time, then please get in touch with our friendly team to find out more about how we may be able to support you (contact us).

We are currently piloting support for older children, and on some occasions may be able to support families with at least one child under seven years old. Please get in touch to find out more.
