In March, we have three runners in the Bath Half marathon. We are so grateful for their support and for taking on this challenge. Here, we meet Eleanor Braney (Ele) and Annica Bowen. Good luck to Ele and Annica and our third runner, Rich Hills. You can do it!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Ele: Dog walks and pub lunches with the family and looking after my garden (veg and flowers) when it’s warmer!!

Annica: Look after my 4 horses and when I get time go riding. They are called Solo Alfie, Humbug and Eric. Alfie, I have owned for 16 years, and Eric is a racing Shetland!

Is this your first half marathon?

Ele: This will be my second, my first was during Covid. I had signed up for a half marathon in Oxford that was cancelled, so instead of wasting all the training, did my own around the village and raised funds for the community.

Annica: Yes!

How is the training going?

Ele: Good but not without obstacles, the various sickness bugs this winter have made it more difficult, but did a 15km run at the weekend, and am feeling much more prepared for Bath!

Annica: Good! I ran 9 miles the other day for the first time

Who will be cheering you on the day?

Ele: My partner will be ferrying the kids to various birthday parties and sporting events, so my mum will be cheering me on!

Annica: My husband, Phil, and three boys Elliott Ivan and Ethan.
